| Dates
and Venues |
Mix Brasil 2001 - 9th Festival of
Sexual Diversity - will take place
from November 13th until the 25th
in São Paulo, at Espaço Unibanco
de Cinema, Museu da Imagem e do Som,
Centro Cultural São Paulo, Museu de
Arte Moderna and Cinesesc. Afterwards
it will go touring throughout Brazil.

| Aims |
|
Mix Brasil is an organization founded
in 1993. Its aim is broadening the
debate concerning sexuality within
the Brazilian society. Through an
annual and itinerant Film and Video
Festival, The Festival of Sexual Diversity,
it has been establishing itself as
the most important Brazilian forum
of the so-called GLS group (gays,
lesbians and "sympathizers"). Besides
that, Mix Brasil is one of the greatest
stimulators of projects aimed to this
group and has an effective role on
these projects. Mix Brasil also works
as an exhibitor of Brazilian works
abroad, having taken part in many
short films programs in more than
10 events through the 5 continents.

| Conditions
to subscribe |

Films/videos in 16 or 35 mm. Videos
in VHS or Beta NTSC - once they have
not taken part at Mix Brasil beforehand.
These works must approach somehow
sexuality in one of its many expressions,
including tattoo, body art, self-mutilation,
drugs, techno music, nigth life and
its similars.

| Procedures
of subscripition and selection |

A comittee will select the works subscribed.
This year we will screen short film
programs with maximum lenght of 90
minutes each. Amongst the Brazilian
films, 10 will be selected to take
part of Competition Showcase. The
winner, which will be chosen by a
jury, will win a prise yet to be defined.
All the works, from Brazil or not,
are in the run for the Silver Rabbit
in the categories documentary, short
and feature film. They will also take
part of a competition organized by
12 international gay&lesbian film
festivals. The Brazilian videos and
films will be automatically subscribed
as well to future selections for international
festivals. It should be sent to Mix
Brasil until September the 6th, after
filling out the subscription form:
- VHS Preview tape
- Dialogue
list in English or Portuguese in disk
or via e-mail
- 2 pictures for press (10x15cm or
300dpi resolution)

Sending
Back
The films from the city of São Paulo must
be taken at the following adress by December
24th. The films from other cities will be
sent back during the same period. The material
sent for subscription will be kept by Mix
Brasil and might be used strictly for cultural
purposes without profit aims.
